Logos – Quite literally meaning the word or discourse. The pre-Socratic philosopher Heraclitus associated the logos with fire. The symbology of word and fire were one. For Hindu philosophers, the creative word was AUM. The word logos is occasionally used in other contexts, such as for “ratio” in mathematics.
This concept of words and AI’s ability in the spheres of text, art, and music is an interesting start. LLMs can be reduced to multiple regression statistics on speech. Diffusion models also have their core principles in probability theory and statistics. If human creativity can be reduced to mathematical functions, where will this lead us? AI is already outperforming the majority of students who would seek entry into Art School.

What are your thoughts on the ethics of AI encroaching and exceling in creative endeavors? Should we put a stop to AI art?
Is AI art “art” is the most boring discussion. IMO the better discussions are: How can we ensure this tech isn’t exploitative, that creative labor is protected+compensated and that the public has the tools to know if something is AI. What policies will we need to do all this?
